Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME)

The Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, or XIME Bangalore, was founded in Bangalore in 1991. Due to quality education and 100 percent placement records, it has gained a reputation and popularity among MBA aspirants throughout the year. In 2012, a campus in Kochi and another campus in Chennai were added by the institute in 2017.

Located in Bangalore’s Electronics City district, XIME boasts a campus with modern infrastructure. XIME

Post Graduate Management Diploma (PGDM) and Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs are offered by XIME Bangalore. A new program called Post Graduation in Construction Management (PGCM) was recently launched.

PG Courses:

  • Applicants seeking admission to PGDM must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a 50% aggregate in any discipline.
  • The PGDM application form can be completed and submitted online on the institute’s official website.
  • In one of the CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA/CMAT/GMAT exams followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), admissions are offered based on a valid score.
  • A candidate must be a graduate in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering for a 1-year Post Graduate Certificate in Management (Construction Management) or a graduate in Architecture or Interior Design with an aggregate of at least 50 percent.

Ph.D. Courses:

  • Applicants must have a master’s degree in management or an equivalent degree/diploma with at least 55% aggregate for a Ph.D.

PGDM:

  • Graduate with a minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks in every discipline (45% for SC/ST candidates)
  • Candidates are also qualified to apply in the final year.

PGCM:

  • Graduate of Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Graduate of Architecture, and Graduate of Interior Design (or related degrees) with a minimum of 50 percent marks.

PhD

XIME Admission:

XIME Bangalore currently provides postgraduate and doctoral candidates with degrees, certificates, and diploma programs. The Business & Management Studies sequence includes all the courses offered by this institute. One of the unique features of this course is its mandatory summer project, known for its flagship PGDM program which allows students to implement several key concepts they learn at college.

In the entrance test conducted by the University of Mysore for admission, Ph.D. candidates must also receive at least 55 percent aggregate (50 percent for SC/ST and Physically Challenged candidates).

Those who have qualified for the UGC/CSIR (JRF)/UGC NET/KSET exam or have completed MPhil (provided that their admission to MPhil took place via an admission examination) are exempted from the above-mentioned admission test.

A two-year PGDM program is provided by XIME Bangalore through six specializations. XIME Bangalore PGDM admission is based on a clear score followed by a GDPI in one of the CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ GMAT/ ATMA exams.

  • In any of the above exams, candidates seeking admission must have a minimum score of 75 percentile (75 percent for GMAT) to become eligible.
  • Those with un-cleared graduation backlogs are not eligible to apply.
  • The total intake of seats for the PGDM program is 180

Eligibility:

  • Graduate from a recognized university in either stream with at least 50 percent aggregate (45 percent for reserved category candidates)
  • Those who wait for the outcome of their final year can also apply

Admission for PGCM:

Eligibility:

  • A minimum of 50 percent aggregate for one of the following graduation degrees:
  • Graduation in Engineering with or similar specialization in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • Graduation or equivalent of Interior Design
  • Graduation or equivalent in Architecture

Admission for Ph.D.:

At the doctoral level, XIME Bangalore offers students a Ph.D. program. Ph.D. admission to XIME Bangalore is regulated by the rules on admission to the University of Mysore as notified on the University’s official website.

  • In the entrance test conducted by the University of Mysore for admission, candidates are expected to obtain at least 55% aggregate (50 percent for SC/ST and Physically Disabled candidates)
  • Those who have qualified for the UGC/CSIR (JRF)/UGC-NET exam/KSET or have completed MPhil (provided that they have been admitted to MPhil via an entrance exam) are exempted from the above-mentioned entrance examination.
  • Final Ph.D. selection is based on the academic records of applicants, work experience (if any), marks obtained in the entrance exam, and interviews conducted by XIME, Bangalore.
  • Also, as XIME Teaching/Research Assistants, there are a small number of seats reserved for full-time research scholarships.

Eligibility:

A pass of at least 55 percent combined (50 percent for SC/ST and Physically Disabled candidates) in the master’s degree in management or any other degree/diploma.

XIME Admission process:

The admission process for XIME Bangalore involves shortlisting candidates based on scores for the MBA entrance test, Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). Admission starts in October with the submission of online application forms. Applications are invited until February and in March the GD/PI takes place.

The applicants must have appeared for any of the following MBA entry examinations to qualify for XIME admissions and must have a score higher than the cut-off percentile mentioned. For the GD/PI round carried out in March, shortlisted candidates are named. Admission is given to those who clear out the GD/PI round.

XIME Application process:

Applicants seeking admission to XIME Bangalore are expected to apply online on the institute’s official website. Although the last date for applying for PGDM is over, applicants seeking PCGM admission still can apply before the last date is over. The application process for each of these programs is described in detail below.

Application procedure :

Admission into various courses at XIME can be done by filling up the application forms that are available online as well as offline mode. The college changes a minimal amount as the application fee. 

Steps for Online application :

  • Visit the official website and create a login ID by filling in the mandatory information in the admission tab.  
  • Fill out the application form with all the required educational and personal details and upload scanned copies of the required documents. 
  • This is followed by paying the application fee via debit card/credit card/net banking or any other payment methods available. 
  • The candidate must take a printout of the form and payment receipt and is required to report to the college within ten days and submit original documents along with the admission letter.

Documents required:

  • Printing of the request form submitted – two copies
  • Original and copy of the XAT/ CAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT admission test scorecard or printout
  • Class 10, Class 12, bachelor’s degree (original) label sheets and certificates

XIME Placements:

XIME

Via an annual placement process, XIME provides its PGDM batch of summer placements and final placements. In December each year, a similar placement procedure is carried out for all three XIME campuses: Bangalore, Kochi, and Chennai.

The XIME Bangalore placement record was 94.12 percent in 2019. The average student package offered was Rs 7.04 lakh per annum. Over 50 businesses are active in XIME’s final placement process.

XIME Cut-off:

Candidates are given admission to various UG & PG courses offered at the XIME based on the cut-offs of the respective entrance tests or merit required for qualification. Cut-offs are released professionally by the college authority category-wise. 

The reservation criteria issued by the Government of India and the state are also kept in mind. Other factors include :

  • The total number of applicants applying
  • The total seats available
  • The previous year’s cutoffs.

The candidates that meet the criteria are only preferred for admission. Admissions for most of the programs are done based on merit and accepted entrance exams.
