North Eastern Regional Institute of Management or NERIM is a private institution that was established in 1992 in Guwahati, Assam. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), NCTE, BCI, MHRD. The institute is affiliated with Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh.
NERIM offers both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in the streams of Commerce, Management, Science, Law as well as Social Science. Among all, the MBA is offered as the flagship program in both full-time as well as part-time mode. Admission is given either on the basis of merit or entrance exam scores depending on the course.
The College has access to all basic facilities such as a library, Wi-Fi, Computer labs, auditorium, cafeteria, visitor house, seminar hall, smart classrooms, distinct hostels for boys and girls, and transport facility.

North Eastern Regional Institute of Management Admission :
NERIM offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of Commerce, Management, Science, Law as well as Social Science.
Admission into the institute is done on the basis of entrance exams such as the institute’s own entrance test called NERIM Entrance Test (NEET), CAT or MAT, and merit followed by institute level counseling.
Admissions to BBA, BCA, and B.Com (Professional) are merit-based and subject to availability of seats.
- MBA candidates can apply on the basis of NET/MAT/CAT scores; MCA candidates are admitted on the basis of merit in qualifying degree examination.
- Lateral Entry admissions are also offered in the second year of MCA.

Admission for BBA, BCA, B.A. LLB, and B.Ed :
The decision of getting a seat is primarily based on the merit of qualifying examinations and the availability of seats in that unique course. Candidates ought to register online after ensuring the eligibility standards.
All candidates who have passed 10+2 examinations with 50% (45% for reserved categories) as minimum aggregate marks in any of the recognized streams are eligible for BBA admissions.
A total of 6 specializations are available in BBA namely :
- Marketing Management
- Human Resource Management
- Management of Insurance Business
- Financial Management
- Hospital & Healthcare Management
- Tourism & Travel Management.
For admission into BCA, candidates must have passed 10+2 pass in Arts /Science/Commerce from the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or any other equivalent Examination from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% marks (For SC/ST minimum of 45% is required) or equivalent CGPA.
For admission into B.Ed., candidates must have a minimum score of 50% aggregate marks either in Graduation or Post-Graduation in any stream from Guwahati University or any other recognized University.
BA LLB admissions are based on whether candidates have passed or not in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination with 45% in aggregate ( 40%marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Admission for MBA, MCA, and MCA (Lateral Entry)
MBA aspirants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any UGC/AICTE recognized university/institution. Applicants must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in graduation (45% for the applicants belonging to the reserved categories).
The choice method of MBA at North Eastern Regional Institute of Management and Computer Sciences relies upon completely on the performance of the candidates in their average tutorial records. Rounds of counseling are held before finally finishing the resolution process. Candidates are chosen after considering all of these factors and in accordance with the directive of the State Government that is issued from year to year.
Candidates seeking admission in MCA must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
Candidates must also have Math/Statistics/ Business/Stats/ Quantitative Techniques as one of the subjects at 10+2 or degree level Or BCA or PG diploma in computer science.
MCA (Lateral Entry) admission is based on the BCA/ B.Sc degree in IT or Computer Science. Mathematics must be a compulsorily opted subject at 10+2 or degree and with minimum 50% marks (40% for reserved category candidates)
Admission to PG Courses :
- For admission into M.Sc., candidates must possess a degree in B.Sc Computer Science or B. Sc. IT or BCA or B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the subjects or must have 4 years of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology is eligible to apply.
- For admission into MCA, G candidates must have graduated with 50% marks with subjects such as Maths in 10+2/ BCA (45% for ST/SC/OBC).
- Admission into MCA Lateral Entry is based on graduation in BCA, BSc IT, BSc Computer Science with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST OBC) in aggregate.
- For M.Com admission, candidates must have completed B.Com with min 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC).
- For MSW and MA (Applied Psychology) admission, candidates must be graduated with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC) from a recognized university.
- For admission in LLM, candidates must have completed graduation in Law with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC).
- For admission in LLB, the candidate should have passed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any stream from a recognized University of India or outside with 45% in aggregate, relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST, and 2% for OBC candidates.
NERIM Application procedure :
Admission into various courses at NERIM can be done by filling up the application forms that are available online as well as offline mode. The college changes a minimal amount as the application fee.
Steps for Online application :
- Visit the official website and create a login ID by filling the mandatory information in the admission tab.
- Fill the application form with all the required educational and personal details and upload scanned copies of the required documents.
- This is followed by paying the application fee via debit card/credit card/net banking or any other payment methods available.
- This is followed by submitting the application form.
Steps for offline application :
- For applying offline, the candidate needs to visit the college Admission Counsellor to fill the form, submit original documents, and pay the fee.

NERIM Cut-off :
Candidates are given admissions to various UG & PG courses offered at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Management on the basis of the cut-offs of the respective entrance tests or merit required for qualification.
Cut-offs are released professionally by the college authority category-wise.
The reservation criteria issued by the Government of India and the state are also kept in mind. Other factors include :
- The total number of applicants applying
- The total seats available
- The previous year’s cutoffs.
The candidates that meet the criteria are only preferred for admissions.
Admissions for most of the programs are done on the basis of merit, but for courses, namely :
- For MBA, the candidate’s Graduation degree marks or CAT/MAT/NET scores are considered.
