IMI Delhi also known as The International Management Institute is a private management institute, commonly known as IMI Delhi, which was founded in 1981. It was the first Institute of Business to have corporate sponsorship. It has been accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the National Accreditation Board (NBA).

The Institute’s PGDM program, formerly known as the PGP program, is accepted by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), while the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) acknowledges the PGDM (HRM) and Fellow programs. It has more than 30 faculty members on a permanent basis.

IMI Delhi Admission Process

In management, the IMI Delhi provides full-time and executive programs. Admission to all the programs is carried out online via the Institute’s official website. It also provides admission to foreign students through its partnership with the Government of India’s Ministry of External Affairs. Below are the course-wise specifics concerning International Management Institute Delhi admissions:

  • Admission to programs from PGDM, PGDM (HRM), PGDM (B&FS), FPM, and E-FPM is based on CAT / GMAT scores
  • CAT / GMAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ ATMA scores are based on executive PGDM admissions
  • Applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree may qualify for the PGDM, PGDM (HRM), and PGDM (B&FS) programs.
  • To be considered for the Executive PGDM program, an applicant must have earned a bachelor’s degree along with five years of work experience.
  • For FPM and E-FPM programs, applicants who have completed a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Engineering may apply.

 

IMI Delhi Courses

The IMI Delhi offers PG and Executive PG diplomas in many management specializations. It also includes full-time and Executive Fellow Management services. For each program, the Institute also focuses on the gender ratio. 62 percent of PGDM students are male and 38 percent are female, while 50 percent of Executive PGDM students are female and 50 percent are male. The length of the PGDM program is two years, while the FPM is a residential four-year program. PGDM, PGDM B&FS, and PGDM HRM have a batch intensity of 235, 50, and 45 students, respectively. For both working academics and academicians, the Institute offers two doctoral courses. They are the Fellow Program in Management (FPM) and Executive Fellow Program in Management (E-FPM).

Duration:

2-years for FPM and 4-years for E-FPM (Full-time)

Eligibility:

  • Masters in B.Tech / CA / CMA / CS with scores of at least 55 percent. As Corporate Executive / Full-time Faculty, applicants applying for the executive program must also have a minimum of 5 years of work experience.
  • CAT/GMAT/IMI Entrance Test with Research Synopsis with Interview.

Fees:

FPM: There will not be a tuition charge for students of Indian descent. An amount of USD 3000 must be paid annually to foreign nationals and NRIs.

E-FPM: The institute charges INR 502,000 for corporate executives and INR 402,000 for four years for academicians.

Note: Applicants who have qualified for a PGDM program in the final year of their bachelor’s degree or equivalent are also eligible to apply, given that they provide evidence of meeting the minimum eligibility requirements by 30 September of the admission year.

IMI Delhi Placements

The Institute has a committee for student placement that takes care of placements on campus. In addition to the placements, the Institute also gives students opportunities for summer internships.

In 2020, the BFSI market, i.e. 29 per cent, made the highest offers, followed by the sectors of IT/ ITES/ Media/ Telecom and Consulting/ E-Commerce. Rs 13.07 LPA was the average salary package offered during placements, while Rs 22 LPA was the highest salary package offered.

Summer internships are also offered by the Institute under both programs. During the International Management Institute (IMI)Delhi 2020 summer internships, the average stipend offered was Rs 60,486. Of the total number of deals, 29% were from the BFSI sector and 28% were from the consulting/e-commerce industry.

Placement Highlights of 2024-25 Batch:

  • 100 + businesses took part in the season to recruit 308 students. Companies come from almost all major business industries, such as Finance, Financial Services, Insurance, Real Estate, Consumer Durables, FMCG, Hospitality, Conglomerates, Automobile, Retail, Telecommunications, Consultancy, Media and Advertisement, and Pharmaceuticals.
  • 5 LPA was the highest CTC offered, with a total of 50 pre-placement offers. In the number of new recruiters for this season, a 46 per cent increase was reported.

IMI Delhi Scholarships

The Institute does not provide scholarships yet, through FPM Stipend and Contingency Grants, provides financial assistance and support to the students.

FPM Stipend: for the first two years and Rs 30,000 in the last two years, IMI Delhi provides a fellowship amount of Rs 25,000 per month. This fellowship is valid for applicants who hold Indian nationality. The balance is paid for the first two years at the end of the effective completion of each term. The cumulative length of the fellowship program is four years.

Contingency Grants: The Institute provides students with contingency grants to purchase books, software, hardware, etc. Under this scheme, a total of Rs 30,000 is granted to students, which is available after the successful completion of the comprehensive exam in the third and fourth years.
