About GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY – 

On November 24, 1969, Guru Nanak Dev University was founded in Amritsar to commemorate Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 500th birthday. It is a residential university that also has affiliations. The goals stated in the Guru Nanak Dev University Act of 1969 were taken into consideration when deciding on the future direction of the university. These goals emphasised that the new university would make provisions for teaching and promoting research in the humanities, learned professions, sciences, especially of an applied nature, and technology.

The only university in the region of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh to have “Category One” accreditation from the University Grants Commission is Guru Nanak Dev University.

The 500th anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth saw the founding of Guru Nanak Dev University in 1969. GNDU is a residential university as well as an affiliate institution. The university has been given the designation of “University with Potential for Excellence” by the UGC in addition to being recognised by the UGC and accredited by NAAC with a “A++” grade. In the “University Category” of the NIRF ranking for 2022, GNDU was ranked 44. Undergraduate, graduate, diploma, short-term, and certificate programmes are all available at GNDU.

On November 15, online registration for the six-month skill-based courses began. Interested candidates may now submit an application through the six-month skill-based courses. Applications for UG and PG open and distance learning courses at GNDU are currently closed. During the GNDU placements in 2023, the highest and most common packages were INR 17.40 LPA and INR 6.58 LPA, respectively. 534 students were placed in total, according to the placement report for 2023. 169 kids were, however, assigned to TCS Ninja, according to the report.

During the GNDU placements in 2023, the highest and most common packages were INR 17.40 LPA and INR 6.58 LPA, respectively. 534 students were placed in total, according to the placement report for 2023. 169 kids were, however, assigned to TCS Ninja, according to the report. During the recruitment campaign, numerous prestigious organisations, including Infosys, TCS Digital, and Accenture, visited the campus.

GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY Admission – 

  • Ten days prior to the start of the examination, the deadline for the December examination fee for private admission to UG and PG programmes is INR 1000 per day (Maximum late fee up to INR 30,000).
  • Applications for online courses are now being accepted, and interested candidates should visit the official website to do so.

It provides undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral (PhD) candidates with degree, diploma, and certificate programmes. Engineering, Architecture & Planning, IT & Software, Hospitality & Travel, Teaching & Education, Science, and Law are among the streams in which GNDU offers programmes. The majority of UG and PG courses offered at the main campus are presently accepting applications.

GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY Library – 

With the exception of two national holidays, the 26th of January and the 15th of August, the library is open every day of the year. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends and other holidays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Bhai Gurdas Library subscribes to 146 Indian and 87 foreign journals. In addition to that, 150 journals will also be donated to a library. The library is a part of INFLIBNET, which offers access to six databases and more than 15,000 e-journals. Through IEEE, the library also subscribes to more than 200 journals. It contains 1,516 priceless manuscripts about the Sikh religion, Punjabi culture, and other religions. 22 departmental libraries are available for the students’ convenience. 

GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY Sports – 

The hostel has two messes and two canteens, both of which are operated under contract. For the benefit of the students, the hostel’s grounds include two badminton courts, two volleyball courts, and table tennis among other indoor game amenities. Wi-Fi is available to the kids in every room, giving them access to the internet. The girls’ hostel is well-equipped with amenities such a reading room, mess, canteen, medical room, utility shop, photo state, PCO-cum-stationary store, and so forth. Students from a 40-kilometer (25-kilometer) radius around the hostel, nighttime students, employees, and part-time students are not permitted to stay there.

 

GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY Ranking – 

To commemorate Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 500th birthday, Guru Nanak Dev University was founded in 1969. Its mission is to provide education and research in the humanities, sciences, natural sciences, and technology, as well as instruction in the life and teachings of Guru Nanak and the Punjabi language. The Department of Guru Nanak Studies and the School of Punjabi Studies have agreed to exclude their students from paying tuition.
