About University:

VJTI Mumbai is an autonomous institute that Maharashtra State Government owns. Established in 1887 as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute by the British, it was renamed in 1997 as Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in honor of the mother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The Institute is known for being one of the country’s best and most pioneering Engineering institutions. Before independence, VJTI is credited for being the driving force behind industrial growth throughout the country and is also attributed for playing a pivotal role in setting IITs and RECs of independent India.

The Institute is located in South Mumbai and offers engineering and technology courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral levels. Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute is well known for its high-quality research, well-qualified teaching faculty, industry connections, and strong alum network. VJTI is approved by AICTE and is one of the oldest Engineering institutes in Asia. VJTI is known for conducting high placement percentages as of 2022; the Placement percentage for I.T. was 100% and 95% for CSE. The highest packages given were 62 LPA and 4.14 LPA by US-based companies. With an average CTC of around 18.21 LPA, about 413 students got placed out of 662.
