The Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR) in Pune, India, is the most settled association relationship in Pune and goes under the Deccan Education Society. Earlier IMDR was offering three full-time programs. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade (PGDIT), and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources (PGDHR), alongside its other low maintenance programs. In 2011 IMDR got AICTE endorsement, and at present IMDR is offering PGDM course affirmed by AICTE and DTE.

The Institute of Management Development and Research (IMDR)

  • IMDR the main Management Institute in Pune was built up in 1974 as a constituent unit of the Deccan Education Society.
  • It assumed control over the MBA program of the MBA Centre of the University of Pune and the DBM program, run in the BMCC (a sister establishment) since 1968.
  • Partnered to the University of Pune, the IMDR was additionally a perceived community for research prompting a Ph.D.

Faculty Committee

Local Management Committee

The local management committee consists of representatives of respective management of the society and the Director of the institute. The LMC is the body for the initiation of any strategy for management. The LMC meets every two months.

The Main Responsibilities of the LMC

  • To apply all budget and financial matters relating to the institute for approval by the GB.
  • To demand fee increases, etc.
  • Increments, promotions, or new appointments to be proposed
  • Proposing contractual agreements for maintaining services such as canteens, parking, etc.
  • Approving and sanctioning the administrative decisions made by the Director and the staff, taking into account the urgency and the requirements which have important financial consequences.

  • Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM)
  • Available: 180 seats
  • Post Graduate Diploma In Management
  • A two-year full-time program is the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).
  • Elective fields such as Marketing, financing, systems, operations, foreign trade, human resources.
  •  The course is split into four semesters of approximately 16 weeks each.
  • Usually, classes are taken from 9 am to 5 pm. An 8-week internship in a corporate organization follows the first two semesters.

Assessment:

Approximately 40 percent is the review of the semester while the remaining 60% is of an examination conducted at end of the semester. The minimum passing rate is 50 percent.

Eligibility:

  • Graduates from any field with or without work experience are eligible to apply if they have not earned less than 50 percent marks.
  • Graduate students in the final year are eligible if they scored no less than 50 percent marks in the immediately preceding test.
  • If an applicant is selected and his / her graduation mark sheet is yet to be obtained, then the admission will be considered as temporary.
  • The Institute reserves the right, for failure to do so, to revoke the admission.
  • For every one of the six examinations, students would have to appear, i.e. CAT, MAT, MAT, MH-CET & CMAT

Step 2 Interview

  • Your form will be accepted for eligibility following the receipt of your submission and application fee at IMDR.
  • 10 days before the actual timetable, you will get a call for an interview. By replying to the email, you need to confirm your attendance.
  • Continue to watch the preliminary schedule admission page on the web site.
  • If no contact is received, please get in touch with the Institute.
  • For the verification process, the following documents should be brought with you.
  • 10th and 12thmark sheet
  • Graduation mark sheets
  • Entrance test scorecards
  • Identity proof.

Step 3 Selection Letter

If you are selected for PGDM, you will receive an email from the Institute regarding the last fee payment date, fee specifics, start date of the course, and the ERP procedure to complete the admission process.

Step 4 Hostel Admission

After admission to the course is completed, the hostel admission process begins.

Library

The Library aims to provide students, faculty, and management professionals with information services. It stretches over a surface of 3570 sq. Just ft. Due to several reference sources from different fields, it differentiates itself from other management libraries.

  • There are 12-year-old 50 Journals and bound volumes.
  • It has 8 newspapers in English and 4 in local languages. Both of these are stored for 6 months and 3 months.
  • EBSCO- Business Source Elite+ and J-Gate Social & Management Sciences are two online databases in the IMDR Library.
  • Members can access newspaper articles, business journals, business profiles, books of reference, newsletters, case studies, etc.
  • IRDM library has subscribed to 52 Foreign and 52 Indian journals.
  • The Library has a budget of about 12 lakhs per year.

Computer Centre

  • It has 120 computers and 2 servers with minimum PIV settings for students.
  • The Centre has state-of-the-art hardware and applications to fulfill management students ‘ needs.
  • For the ability of 30 learners, there is a separate Language Lab for language training.
  • Under the SAP University Partnership Programme, students are given hands-on instruction on ERP systems.
  • To address the needs of the alumni and promote their involvement in the growth of the Institute, a separate portal is maintained for the alumni.
  • For Internet access, the lab has a 2 MBPS leased line connexion.
  • Students can access the internet for 12 hours a day via LAN and Wi-Fi on the campus.
  • The IMDR Data Centre is responsible for all Campus IT services.

Hostel Admission Process

  • An application must be submitted by interested students to abhijeet@imdr.edu(Boys Hostel) or giribala@imdr.edu(Girls Hostel). (Please enter your mobile number and email ID in the app.)
  • All applicants are expected to register online at www.deccansociety.com before arriving for admission.
  • The adhar card, photograph, and required documents will be uploaded to the above website via ERP log in I d.
  • The applicant must come with a local guardian and parents.

Procedure:-

Log in with your username I d and password to the ERP portal www.deccansociety.com, and fill out the form for admission to the hostel. It will be eligible from 16 June 2019 onwards.

  1. Upload your Aadhar and Picture card.
  2. Upload your father/mum’s picture and Aadhar card
  3. Upload a picture of a local guardian and an Aadhar card
  4. At 11 am on Friday, 28 June 2019, you need to visit IMDR with either of your parents and local guardian to complete hostel admission formalities. It is mandatory for parents (either father or mother) and local guardians.
  5. You will have to go to the hostel and visit the rector in question to pay the fees and complete the process after completing the process on the ERP portal.
  6. On June 28, 2019, please take the original Aadhar cards with you.
  7. Based on first come first serve, hostel admission will be granted as there are restricted seats.
