Indian Institute of Information Technology, Raichur (IIIT Raichur) is one of the newest IIITs established by the Ministry of HRD in the year 2019. IIIT Raichur does not still have an owned campus which is why the departments function from the IIT Hyderabad campus.
Currently, there are 30 students in the first batch of IIIT, Raichur. Students are accommodated within the campus of IIT Hyderabad because of the mandatory hostel policy of the institution.
The first few batches of IIIT Raichur students are being taught by the 19 leading faculty members of IIT Hyderabad which includes academicians and researchers too.
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Raichur, Telangana (IIIT Raichur) started its first academic activity in August 2019. The college offers only one program which is BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at the UG level. Students between 10K – 20K rank in JEE Main are expected to get admission in the institute.
Students of IIIT Raichur are involved in all the student activities taking place at IIT Hyderabad. Some of the facilities provided for students within the campus includes a sports ground, Wi-Fi connectivity, solar water heaters, recreation rooms, table tennis tables, dance room, music room, bus facilities for the easy transportation of students inside the campus.

IIIT Raichur Admission
IIIT Raichur admission process begins after the commencement of JEE Main results. Candidates thus, have to appear in the JEE Main entrance test to be eligible to apply for admission in the institution by registering themselves on the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The details regarding IIIT Raichur BTech admission are listed below:
- The selection of candidates to IIIT Raichur’s BTech program is based on their JEE Main score, followed by a counseling round.
- The regulating and conducting body for counseling is the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) based on which the candidates are allotted seats.
- The seat allotment is based on the college cutoff and candidate’s preference for courses and colleges. Usually, students between 10-20K rank in JEE Main are expected to get admission in IIIT Raichur
The registration and choice filling of JoSAA generally begins in a few weeks from the Joint Entrance Examination via online mode.
Engineering aspirants seeking admission will be given admission based on their JEE Main rank followed by JoSAA counseling which includes document verification and seat allotment.

- Go to the official website of JEE Main at jeemain.nic.in
- To register, click on “New Registration, then ”Select “JEE-Main” to proceed with the registration process.
- Log in to the account and upload the necessary documents, fill up choices, and lock the entries.
- Take the print out of the online application form and enclose it with the hard copies of documents.
Once done with the online application, candidates can send the required documents to the institution for verification. The process then requires visiting the campus for seat allotment.

It offers 30 seats in a 4-year BTech program, consisting of 8 semesters, each of 16 weeks duration.
In 2019, the first semester began in the last week of July and ended by the last week of November. The second semester started in the first week of January and ended in the first week of May.
