Annamalai University is an open university founded in 1929. It was founded by the renowned entrepreneur, Annamalai Chettiyar. Previously, the university was a private entity. It was taken over by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2013. The university focuses on the fields of agriculture, engineering, medicine, humanities, technology, physical education, and management. It is considered to be the first university in India to offer a postgraduate program in Chemistry, Zoology, Applied Psychology, Bioinformatics, Law, Management, and Business Administration. The University is affiliated with the Indian Agricultural Research Council and the University Grants Board.
Annamalai University Admission
The University of Annamalai was established in 1929. The University offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs along with a variety of diploma programs. The University also offers numerous courses through distance learning.
- Applicants are chosen in the MBA, MCA & MTech programs on the basis of the marks obtained in TANCET.
- Applicants must have qualified TNEA for the BE program.
- Applicants are chosen in the Ph.D. program on the basis of a university admission examination followed by an interview.
- Admission to BE programs (Lateral Entry) will be made on the basis of advice given by the Alagappa Chettiyar Government College of Engineering & Technology.
- Candidates eligible to apply for more than one program must register for each program individually.
- Applicants who have completed their 10 + 2 outside Tamil Nadu must apply their Nativity Certificate in order to be qualified for various courses.
Annamalai University UG Admission 2024: BSc, BVoc, BFA
Applicants are chosen in the BFA program on the basis of the entrance exam. The maximum age for entry is 35 years from 1 July of the year of entry. Applicants are chosen for the BSc (Agriculture / Horticulture) program on the basis of merit. Selected candidates will be called for advice on their merits.

Annamalai University PG Admission 2024: MA, MBA, MCom, MCA, MSc, MSW, MPT
The Annamalai University offers numerous postgraduate programs under different specializations through its respective faculties, such as the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Education, etc. Applicants applying for MBA / MCA programs must have a clear TANCET ranking. Minimum one year of work experience before or after the Post Basic BSc Nursing program is needed to apply for the MSc Nursing program.

Annamalai University of Marine Science Admission 2024: BFSc, MFSc & MSc
Applicants are chosen in the MFSc on the basis of a standard entrance test administered by the University. The applicant must be 21 years of age and older. Applicants are chosen from the MSc program on the basis of an interview.

Annamalai University Admission 2024: BEd, MEd
The selection of applicants for the BEd program will be made on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying UG / PG degree test. Applicants will be chosen in the Med program on the basis of merit. Merit shall be determined by the results of the qualifying examination and by the selection test and the interview to be conducted by the University.

Annamalai University Scholarships and Funding
Scholarship 1
Post-Matrix Scholarship-Applicable to Diploma in Nursing, UG / PG / M.Phil, Ph.D. courses (other than technical courses), and students should have at least 50 percent mark in the previous year’s final exam, and the annual income of guardians should be at most Rs.2 lakh.
Scholarship 2
Merit cum is a scholarship-
The scholarship is solely founded on merit. Students living in a specific state / UT will be eligible for scholarships under the UT / State quota only irrespective of their place of study.
This refers to the degree and/or PG level of the technical and professional courses of a recognized institution.
Students should have a minimum of 50 percent of marks in the previous year’s final exam, and the annual income of guardians from total sources should be a maximum of Rs.2.50 lakhs.
Scholarship 3
30 percent of the scholarship will be for students of girls. In the event that a sufficient number of eligible young students are not available, the remainder of the allocated scholarships may be awarded to eligible young students.
