In order to keep pace with the expansion of knowledge frontiers and global innovations, IIT Bombay also has ongoing academic and research partnerships with several national and foreign universities, governments, and industries. At this institute, the Research Park Foundation is a facilitator that takes the industry closer to R&D collaboration. It also offers a broad range of expertise in various industries, including aviation, chemicals, electricity, automotive, IT and telecommunications, etc.

IIT Bombay’s Society for Creativity and Entrepreneurship (SINE) is a major initiative that promotes the study and incubation of technical innovations that can be converted into business projects. It has been selected by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, as a ‘Centre of Excellence with funding support to scale up its activities.
