CAT 2020-21 Admit card

Common Aptitude Test or IIM CAT 2020-21 is a management-based examination that is a gateway to more than 20 IIMs and over 1,200 B-schools in India. In over 156 cities, CAT is carried out in online mode.

The analysis consists of 100 Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA) MCQs & non-MCQs. On 29 July, the official CAT 2020 website (iimcat.ac.in) went live with all the information related to the entrance exam and the admission process for IIM. From August 5 until September 23, the registration window was open. Every year, over two lakh candidates take part in the CAT test. About 2.3 lakh applications were received for CAT 2020, a decline of around 10,000 from last year. The number of candidates who enrolled for the examination in 2019 was 2.4 lakh.

CAT 2020-21 Admit card

The Common Admission Test or IIM CAT 2020-21 Admit card was published on 28 October 2020. The candidates participating in the exam can now download the hall ticket via the iimcat.ac.in  website.

Highlights

  • This year, a total of 2.27 lakh (2,27,835) candidates have registered for the IIM CAT 2020-21 test. The exam will take place in test centers spread out over about 156 test cities on November 29.

 

  • There will be a CAT 2020-21 Admit card available on the website – iimcat.ac.in. The applicant must click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ link to download it. Enter the I d and password of the user. On the screen, the Hall Ticket will appear. Upload, and for further reference, take a printout.

 

  • There was a shift in the review pattern this year, given the COVID-19 scenario. The IIM CAT 2020-21 inspection period has been shortened from three hours to two hours. It has been reduced to 40 minutes as per the CAT sectional period.CAT 2020-21 ADMIT CARD

How to register for CAT 2020 

On the official IIM CAT 2020-21 website, www.iimcat.ac.in, you can register for IIM CAT 2020-21 between 10:00 am on 5 August 2020 and 5:00 pm on 16 September 2020. The registration steps are as follows:

  • Register to generate a unique password and user ID.
  • To fill in the application form, sign in with the created user ID and password.
  • After entering the information and making online payments, submit the application form to complete the registration and application process.

Applicants will not be permitted until the payment is made and the application form is submitted.

To make some modifications. You can only display and print the application form after the application form has been submitted. The Application submission page contains info.

  • Rs 1000 for candidates from SC, ST, and PwD.
  • Rs 2000 for all other applicants.

Please note that the registration fee must be paid only once by a candidate, regardless of the number of institutes he/she is applying for. Candidates for SC, ST, and PwD must upload at the time of registration a copy of their SC / ST / PwD certificates. Under any circumstances, fees once paid can not be refunded.

Admission Procedure : 

Please notice that, based on their requirements, IIMs shortlist candidates for the interview stage,

And maybe separate from one another. Written skill tests (WAT), group discussions (GD), and personal interviews (PI) can be included in the process. A significant component of the admission process is success in the CAT 2020 test.

IIMs may additionally use other factors such as the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender, academic diversity, and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking candidates at various stages of the admission process. The procedures, academic cut-offs, and the weights assigned to the parameters of the assessment may differ across IIMs. Refer to the admissions policies of individual IIMs on their respective websites for more information.

CAT 2020-21 Test Centres

CAT will take place in centers spread over approximately 156 test cities. Test cities will be listed on the CAT website and the Admission Card will indicate the name of the test center.
IIMs reserve the right at their discretion to change or cancel any test center or city and/or change the time and date of the test.

CAT 2020-21 Scorecards

The CAT 2020 scorecards of candidates will be made accessible on the CAT website. Applicants may also be informed individually through SMS. By the second week of January 2021, the CAT results are likely to be declared.
The CAT 2020 score is only valid until 31 December 2021 and will be available on the website as a result.
Thereafter, no inquiries relating to the provision of CAT 2020 scorecards will be received.

Results and Shortlisting for CAT 2020 :

Details relating to the IIM CAT 2020-21 results will be available on this website on a provisional basis from the second week of January 2021. The list of candidates shortlisted for the next selection stage will be made available on the respective IIM websites. Each IIM will directly give the shortlisted candidates interview letters. The shortlisting requirements differ across IIMs.

 

CAT Eligibility  :

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% or equivalent CGPA marks [45% in].
  • Applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and People with a Scheduled Caste (SC), Categories of Disability (PwD)], granted by any university or educational institution.
  • Candidates for the final year of the bachelor’s degree / equivalent certificate test and certification test.
  • Many who have completed degree specifications and are waiting for outcomes may also apply.

All of the following conditions should be met by candidates applying for IIM CAT 2020-21 :

  • Bachelor’s degree with the appropriate percentage of marks completed.
  • Technical degree (CA / CS / ICWA) completed with the percentage required.
  • The appropriate percentage should be in the final year of the bachelor’s degree.

Based on practice, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated as followed by the respective university/institution. The conversion to a percentage of marks, in the case of grades / CGPA, would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective university/institution.

At different stages of the selection process, IIMs may verify eligibility, the details of which are given on the www.iimcat.ac.in website. Applicants should remember that mere fulfillment of the minimum eligibility requirements will not guarantee that shortlisting by IIMs is taken into account. Throughout the application process, applicants must declare and retain a legitimate and exclusive email address and phone number.

Calculating Percentile :

Step 1 :

Calculate the total number of applicants (N) for IIM CAT 2020-21 (including morning, afternoon, and evening sessions) who appeared.

Step 2 : 

Assign all candidates that appeared for CAT a rank (r), based on the scaled scores obtained in the QA segment. In the case of two or more candidates receiving identical scores in the QA segment, assign all of those candidates identical grades.

Step 3 :

Calculate the percentile score (P) of a candidate with rank (r) in the QA segment as:

Step  4 : 

Round off a candidate’s measured percentile score (P) by up to two decimal points.

Reservation Policy :

15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, as per the legal requirements. For other backward classes, 27% of the seats are reserved

Candidates belonging to the (NC-OBC) “non-creamy” layer. For Economically Poorer Parts (EWS) candidates, up to 10% of the seats are reserved.

5% of seats are reserved for people with benchmark disabilities (PwD) under the terms of the Protection of Persons with Disabilities Ac, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016). “Person with Benchmark Impairment” means an individual with a disability of not less than 40% (40%) of the defined disability. Here are the categories of disability :

a) Blindness and low vision

b) Deaf and hard of hearing

c) Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy.

d) Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness

e) Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d)

f) Other ‘specified disabilities’ mentioned in ‘The Schedule’ of the RPwD Act 2016
